Have Debbie Bliss baby pattern - would like to knit same pattern for adults

I've been knitting a Debbie Bliss baby vest for all my expectant friends and now they would like to have matching vests. Only problem is that i have no idea how to change the pattern for women and men - the pattern is from the Debbie Bliss Baby Essentials book - can anyone help? many thanks!!!

I'm not srue what the vest looks like, but can you find a similarly shapped adult vest and incorporate any stitch pattern into it?

If you have a small pattern - such as you describe - I'm thinking it would use fingering or sport weight yarn. If you were going to knit it for an adult, you could use worsted weight and heavier needles. If you work on the gauge, you should be able to figure out how much larger it should be. That's as far as I'm willing to speculate about his project, but I think it should work with a little creative thought and, of course, luck!
