Keep or return?
I bought 9 balls of Swish DK in petal for a project I was going to make for someone. They chose another yarn after I'd made the order. Now, should I keep the yarn or return it? I am not a pink fan so I'm leaning towards just return it. Such a hard thing to return yarn! I would rather be buying!!!!

I'd return (exchange!) it - you can buy a different yarn more to your liking!!

If i do ANYTHING for anyone I make them pay me up front for the yarm or fiber. I don't want to get stuck with something I don't like.

It's not a money issue, it's space. I've got two bins of hidden yarn delight in the basement and they're both full! I have a number of items I'm making for this person so in the end, I would not be out money even if I keep it. I can hide it in my desk at work but I don't know when I would use it. It's just so soft and the perfect pink if I needed to do a girl baby blanket.

I don't really wear pink, either (hair was red most of my life) but have somehow ended up with a bunch of very nice pink yarn--including two different alpaca blends.

I horde yarn, so I would keep it. But I horde yarn. So that's just me. I would keep it until I found a great pattern for a sweater or hat/mittens/scarf set for my mom.

Return
I would return it if it is a color you don't want. Otherwise I would just keep it.

I would use it later. Also if the pink is very bright it will be harder to use. Soft pink usually looks good on everyone.

I hoard yarn, too, so I would keep it unless I needed another color and could not afford it.
