Question about knitting with 2 colors.

Hi! When you are knitting with 2 colors (as in a stripe pattern) and are carrying the unused color along the side, does the back look different from the front? Does it look different than the actual pattern? Thanks!

Usually when changing color you'll see a different color purl bump. For this reason change colors on the front unless you want it as a design feature. Is that what you mean?

I was experimenting with knitting with 2 colors--knitting 1 and carrying the other-- 2 rows of each color and what I consider to be the back looks different from the front--more like "lines" of color instead of the 2 and 2 pattern. I was wondering if this is the way it's supposed to look!
