Anyone in North Alabama?

I live in Decatur, Alabama, and have yet to meet a fellow knitter in person. How sad is that? lol, seriously, NOBODY seems to knit at all here because of the warm climate.

Heh. But anyway, if anybody near here knits, please let me know.

I live in Gardendale, AL. That's not too far away from Decatur. I think there is only 2 knitting shops half way near here. One is in Trussville and was closed on the Saturday I went there and the other one is in Alabaster, I think, and it is quite a ways so, I haven't been there either.

I live in Wisconsin, but my daughter lives in Madison, AL (right outside of Huntsville). I visit her about 5-6 times a year. We've both been to Yarn Expressions many times. I took a sock class there once. Meg has some beautiful yarn there, doesn't she?
EKelly, do you get together with the others to knit?

I'm in Decatur! Our church has a knitting group, but they meet on a weekday morning when I work. Decatur used to have a nice yarn shop on Sixth Avenue, but it closed a few years ago. I didn't even know there was a shop in Huntsville.

Hi, I live in Colorado, but also visit Madison, AL fairly often. My only complaint about Yarn Expressions is that whenever I visit they seem to be closed for the holiday and don't open again until after I am leaving. It would be great to find other knitters there who meet other than at the yarn shop so the meetings wouldn't be suspended while I am there. Also, there is a guy named Lewis in Harvest, AL who sells me buffalo fiber that I love to spin. Right now I am working on some that I blended with silk fiber to spin. It is working up really nicely. One batch was better carded and was finer silk and came out smooth and one batch was with silk noil and came out kind of tweedy. All good, though.
