I finished this last weekend while out of town with my daughter at a soccer camp.
I made this for my friend who just started chemotherapy. She's the friend I made the comfort throw for. I chose this color because my daughter, who's good friends with the gal's daughter, thought she wouldn't like a bright color.
My friend came over this week to let me show her how to use a juicer, and I showed her the stack of hats that have been coming in for Mason's mom. The pink one I made (same pattern) was in there, and she commented on how much she liked it.
Before she left, I gave her this one (pictured below), along with a few other goodies. She was THRILLED! It warms my heart to do things for people when they don't expect it.
Here's where you can find the pattern. One of these days I'm going to buy the yarn the pattern calls for to get a finished product that looks like the picture.
I bought my yarn at
KnitWitz, in Jacksonville. I used Rowan Calmer, color #461 and Trendsetter's Eyelash yarn, color #49. The Calmer is amazingly soft...it's a cotton/polyester blend.
Thanks for looking!
