My sister wants me to make a blanket for my niece. She sent me 100g each of pink and green and 400g of white fingering weight yarn. Now I need a patter for it, please help.
you can go to lionbrand.com, elann.com, knitty.com, berroco.com, knittingdaily.com, vogueknitting.com, http://tahkistacycharles.cust.firepoppy.com/ Those websites should have blanket patterns somewhere. I wouldn't recommend using fingering weight for a blanket though. That would be really really thin.
Fingering weight yarn would require a fine needle.. like a US 1-3. Yardage is also a better indicator of how much you have. Grams varies by yarn weight.
I actually found very few patterns for that weight and none were free.
Check at knittingpatterncentral.com and also thedailyknitter.com which has the needle size listed. You might want to double the yarn and use a larger needle or it will take you a long time to knit.
