Hi Diane - Don't know if you've progressed on, but to answer your other question in your post, after you finish the joining row, you continue on with a purl row on WS, knit row on RS, etc., since you are doing stockinette, unless your pattern states otherwise. So do the joining row, turn and purl the 82 st you now have again, just as you were doing before the leg openings and joining rows. You can cut the yarn where you were working with different balls and weave those in when you're done (or knit them in as you go).
