reading charts

Please tell me how to read the knitting chart...and the loop chart. New project and I've never read a chart before.

What type of chart are you trying to read? Is this a graph paper type chart with symbols for the type of stitch to do?

the chart shows which stitch to do for which stitch...and now I know to read from the bottom right to the left, and on row 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc., it's left to right upward...thank you ladies! I do not know about looping charts but maybe this is the same. I don't need to know that today. I don't think.

What do you mean by `looping charts'? Those for a loop stitch, or for patterns knit in the round?
