I'm a Knitiot!

I can't seem to get these Magic Loop socks no matter what I do. I keep knitting them inside out! When I try to knit them right side out, I keep adding stitches. I'm so frustrated with myself.

To top it off, I went to a new knitting group (new to me) and I felt like the loser newbie knitter.. One lady was knitting a beautiful lace shawlette; one was knitting socks; one was knitting a baby mobile complete with mice and frogs; one was knitting a modular scarf; and one was crocheting a garment. There I sat, frowning over my ML sock cuff, trying to knit it 'correctly' so that I didn't knit it inside out. The very patient lady next to me (sock lady) was trying to help me over and over again, but I just kept screwing up. I frogged the cuff a bazillion times.

I restarted the cuff again this morning.. but yep - the only way I could knit it was to knit inside out. ARGH!

I wouldn't worry too much!

My ML stuff ends up inside out as well, I learned how to fix it from a thread at Ravelry (here)

It's okay to knit it inside out, many people do it on purpose. Keep knitting it and when you're ready for the heel it may be easier to flip it out the right way then.

Do you have to knit other circular methods inside out or just ML?

I agree, I wouldn't worry too much. You socks will look cleaner than mine when they're finished.

mine are the same so dont worry. i actually finished mine last week just inside out.they've come out fine. i have started pair no 2 for the class tonight just so i can see how its done after doing it (iyswim).

There is actually a tribe in the Andes known for their knitted hats--and the men knit them in the round, INSIDE OUT.

Knitting isn't just a craft, it is an art....and no 2 artists do things quite the same. You may find that working inside out works beautifully for YOU, so don't worry too much how anyone else does it.

I think I will.. then I will have to turn it again to finish the foot??

You can actually knit the whole thing inside out if that's easier for you. I was thinking the reason you find it easier knitting on the inside is because the cuff isn't very long yet and once it grows, it'll be easier to keep it RS out.

We had this discussion on the Tempting II because Artlady had knit her tempting in the round inside out. When you look at Artlady's work you know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way she knits. It always turns out beautifully.

Don't worry and keep knitting, when you are done you will turn it the right way round and you will have a perfect sock.

Everything I knit in the round is knit inside out!!!! I have tried and tried and tried to knit them inside right, but I just can't get it and have given up and decided I knit inside out. The only problem this gives me is that I have to remember to turn them inside right to do certain things, then turn them back inside out to rejoin in the round.

I'm also thinking this is going to be a problem if I ever want to do cable patterns....right? Otherwise, I'm perfectly happy with my inside out knitting and I'm sick of feeling like a loser knitter because it doesn't look like everyone else's WHILE I knit it.

I was actually going to try ML to see if that solved the problem, but from what I've read on yours and many other threads, this isn't going to solve my problem either. LOL Just keep on knitting inside out and learn to adjust!
