Oh that was helpful! Now it all makes sense since it's all in one spot! Man, that's a lot of work for you! Maybe in the future someone can volunteer to finish off some of the blankets along with you so it's not just put on you. Meaning someone else is the "last person" before they send it back to you to be given away, versus you have to do all the finishing touches! And perhaps people could throw in some of their stash along with the blanket so that person has yarn to work with. Anyways, just some ideas. I hate to have all the work put on you!

I don't mind the work. The Oddball charity projects were my idea to begin with, back in February of 2007.

When the first blanket got started, it was like a wildfire in the forum, and everyone wanted to join. That's why we started four more big blankets. Next, we decided to make lapghans for battered women's shelters.

Then, Snowbear suggested that maybe we should make baby blankets, and we got going on those as well. The baby blankets were an even bigger hit, because they were completed so quickly.

My next idea was to make Oddball Shawls, and those are still going strong as well. So far, we've started about 20 shawls, and donated about 8 of them.

Next, I asked if anyone would like to make Oddball Pet Snuggles, and those were successful as well.

It's so cool to see all the different Oddball projects growing!

Good morning all...I just happened on this thread and wanted to see if there is room for one more knitter. I knit on the West Coast Oddball Baby Blankets, but have a soft spot in my heart for the young ones in Mexico. My husband and I (and 2 daughters when they could) spent a week each year at Easter doing a mission trip to different towns in Mexico. My husband ran a dental clinic and I worked with the children. We no longer do the trips, but I would love to still be able to help out if I can. If there is a spot for an extra knitter that is. Just let me know.

In any event, the blankets are amazing and the cause is wonderful...thanks all for doing this.

The lapghan is ready to move along. I didn't get much done for the time I had it but I wanted to send it along before I went out of town. I will post pictures soon. In the meantime, Shandeh, could you please get me the address for the next knitter?? Thank you!

Morning all. The lapghan arrived safe and sound and I've started working on it. It's so much bigger than the baby blankets. It's kind of nice, because it has been chilly here this weekend, so it is nice to have some extra warmth while I'm working on it. It sure is a pretty blanket.
