It looks so good. I can't wait to start working on the blankets.

Summer Olympics
Hello all,
Well, I did not get to cast on, nor finish, summer olympics this weekend like I intended.

One of my friends died in her sleep thursday, and tonight was the wake. It was horrible. She left behind a 10 yr. old, and a 6yr. old.

It was just horrible and i'm exhausted.

Tomorrow is the service and funeral so by the time I get home tomorrow my mind will be mush. I'll either cast on an easy pattern, or go to bed.

This sucks. The reality of it really hit tonight, that it could be any of us, at any time. I am so sad for her family, it just kills me.

Ugh.

Praying here too... that is sad, I recently lost my best friend in a car accident. I know how hard it is.

If you want to cast on go ahead... I know that for many knitting helps a lot in times like this, but if you need time, take it. The blanket can wait to be made.

I'm so sorry...

Summer Olympics blanket and needles
Brenda, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I will send you good vibes for strength during this time. Also, I don't want to steal your thunder or anything, but if you'd like to switch places with me on the blanket, I'd be happy to cast on for this instead. We could even work it backwards, maybe? (eg, I'll start with my same red section and we can just go backwards through the list?) You'd have to send it back to me for finishing, but you could still do your same color and everything. It is up to everyone else, I just thought I'd suggest it as a way to help out.

All of that aside, I think somone mentioned that they were loaning out the proper size circs for these? If so, are there any left? I am new to knitting and I don't own any circular (or dpns for that matter) yet. If not, it's no big deal... I can get the proper set (I think I missed what size we need, too, so some help on that would also be appreciated) when the time comes.

Thanks!

nephthys8, that's very kind of you to offer, we can do that if you want Brenda, it's up to you....

I have a bunch of needles for the blankets, Holly has some too and I think someone said that they some, but I don't remember now... some have donated their own, but if Brenda wants to reverse the order of the blanket I'll send you a set... If you want to start one later I can send you a set then too... but if you end a blanket you can keep the needles if you are going to be starting one later and use it.

I mailed M&M's today... you should be getting in a few days Moxiemade... I have to comfim# if we need it... and I'll post pics later, I DID take them this time , I almost forgot....

Dawn, let me know if I need to send a needle to nephthys8.

Today, I received the "Go USA" blanket from Kelly. And she sent me a skein of yarn for my charity knitting, and some bags of tea in several interesting flavors! (Black Cherry, Melon, Raspberry, Tropical Sorbet, Pomegranate, and Lemon Tangerine!)

Thank you so much for offering, you are very sweet. As I thought, my mind is mush tonight, so I think I will need to knit as a sort of quiet time therapy for me. That and a glass of wine. I looked at the guidelines and saw that a bunch of patterns can use 100 stitches - so that is how many I will cast on.
