Stop, regroup and move on...
I really looked at that margarita shell i've been attempting (and wrote about my frustrations with) and took a step back to evaluate....remembering i've only done scarves and dishclothes to this point.

i looked at my stash...i had bought a box of yarn off ebay, and had 10 skeins of two two in that box...it's a not wonderful light green color, but a nice chunky wool. i had also hunted down a book published by the company that makes two two called "Beginnings"...all beginning level sweaters made for two two, as well as paintbox and some other yarns.

SO, i've started a funnel neck sweater for my 6 year old son....i've got 40 rows in yesterday. simple st st, but will teach me about decreasing, making sleeves, etc. all good stuff. then, when i've got some confidence built up, i'll go back to that ribbon shell <g>. like maybe this coming winter, when i'll have it done for spring!

Nate (my DS) loves the idea i'm making him a sweater...my 14 year old DD (she's a woman's medium) is asking me to make her "a simple vest with two or three chunky cables".....

I look forward to seeing pics of the sweater.

Sometimes ya do have to just step back from a project for a little while. I've been working on a raglan sweater and am now on one of the sleeves. I haven't even picked it up in a few days as I was just sick of working on it.

I'll get back to it in a day or so and get it finished.

Mason-
you are right about needing some space! How is the sweater coming? (i love that color blue!). as a quilter, i know that sometimes one needs to just "take a break".....of course, since i've discovered knitting, no quilting has been done <g>.

Thanks. Like I said, I'm working one of the sleeves now. Hopefully I'll have it finished soon.
