Designing charts

Hi.

I have a plain sweater pattern that I would like to put a design on. Its a Charlie Brown "zigzag" that I would like to add. Someone had a chart already made, but it was for baby yarn. Can I use the same pattern for my worsted weight or do I need to tweek the pattern for the other yarn?

Is there any suggestion for making my own chart? I appreciate the help and this site very much.

Was it charted using knitting graph paper? If so, it shouldn't matter what yarn weight is used. The only reason I could see for needing to tweak it is if it was charted on standard grid/graph paper. That wouldn't allow for the fact that knitting sts aren't sq...they're rectangular and your resulting image would look wonky.
