Midwest Great Plains Oddball Baby Blankets
Hello friendly charity knitters and crocheters!

We work together to make Oddball Baby Blankets for charity. Our blankets will be made according to the requests of local hospital(s), so keep watching this thread to see our guidelines.

Midwest Great Plains Baby Blankets are led by kellyh57

The Great Plains region includes North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.

If you would like to volunteer to help make baby blankets, please send a private message to kellyh57, and she will help you get started!

Our project will begin in August, so let's start our plans!

Hi! It's me! I'm so excited to get started with this. Like Sandy said, let me know if you'd like to be included. I think we have all the names from the other thread, but it wouldn't hurt to send another PM if you want to be sure you're up to date on the new format!

I would love to do a regular sized blanket or two while I'm heading up the Midwest Preemie Blankets.

Any thoughts on themes? Before I came up with the idea to use children's book/nursery rhymes for the preemie blankets, here was a list I had:

Amber Waves of Grain/Golden Fields (amber, blue, green)
Sunrise/Sunset
Snowy Winter
4 Seasons
Badlands
Fireworks
Prairie Flowers

Man has the last month just FLOWN by or what? My son started school today so things are settling down. I'm going to cast on to the tulip blanket I talked about on the other Midwest thread. I'll pick out a tulip pattern and we can all stick to tulip colors. You can either follow the same tulips or I'll toss in some ideas on other patterns. Tulips come in just about every color, so I don't think it'll be hard to stick to those colors! If we can, I'd love to get someone to add a green border when we're done!

Any takers on the blanket or border?

Kelly

Okay, scratch that. I can't find an easy, non-holey tulip pattern that I like that will work! I'm going for Neon Lights now! I have some bright orange that I'll start with. Any takers on this one? Use any bright color, any pattern, any yarn!

Oooo....I LOVE Neon! We've had two good Neon colored blankets before.
