The yarn is self striping. I dyed it myself. I'm pretty pleased with how the colors came out.

WOW! you dyed it yourself? Is it the yarn from Knitpicks? If not how do you dye it for self striping?

Am I too late?
I would love to join you, what a great idea!

My current UFO's are:

Easy Baby Cardigan-1, one sleeve left to do and ties. My gauge ended up being WAY off, so it will be more 12 mo size than newborn but still quite usable.

Easy Baby Cardigan 2- In correct weight yarn & checked gauge this time. Hood & yoke done so far.

Cabled scarf- been working on this for months now, a little at a time
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...endysscarf.jpg
(a tired me knitting it on the Eurostar between London & Paris, on a Girl Scout trip- got back early June & haven't touched it since!)

Kitchen towel- still need to sew on a button!

Frida poncho- I am not really considering this a dire must finish

Baby blanket that I have yet to cast on but really, really need to finish I am also counting!

Wow, I was impressed before you said you dyed it yourself! The pink/blue always makes me think of Sleeping Beauty and the fairies fighting over her dress color.

Did you use the sock blanks? Those look so cool!

It is KP yarn but not the sock blanks. I used this tutorial to create the self striping.

Thank you! I wasn't really liking the pink/blue combination but now that it's knit up I just love these colors together. I have enough yarn left over that I should be able to make myself a pair too.

OK I finished the hat last night... and it too small But it will fit a Babydoll , so it's now going to be Belle Christmas present... I do like how it looks... just wish I had checked gauge... But the strange thing is that I've made hats that fit with less stitches, just didn't realize the the ss would make it so much smaller. Anyway here is a pic...

Nice colour work, shame it doesn't fit. Lucky doll though.

Beautiful hat! If you decide you don't want to keep it, it would work perfectly for a preemie baby at the hospital!
