Military Jacket
I am attempting the military jacket from Veronik Avery.

I have attached the cable chart and it states that if you knit the RS you should purl the WS and if you purl the right side knit the WS.

It says row 1 you k4, p2
row 2 the chart says p3, k3

so do I k3 and p3

this is a cable stitch and it isn't working out because my cable isn't all knit stitches. Can you follow...I hope so. I have frogged this I don't know how many times.

Thanks for the help.

im not sure without seeing the chart but my first guess is that the chart shows only the right side rows and then the instructions you described mean that on the wrong side you 'knit the knits and purl the purls (as they face you)'

so if row 1 of the chart is the right side and is K4 P2
then the next row you do would be the uncharted WS and would be p4 K2
then you would do row 2 of the chart, P3, K3
followed by an uncharted WS K3 P3
