reading a german pattern
I am a new knitter. I have a pattern for a doll sweater taken from a German doll magazine and cannot understand the instructions that follow. Can anyone help me.
Cast off 2x2 sts along the front part of the armholes and 1x2 sts and 1x1 st on the back part of the armholes. the other instructions are familiar but this is new knitting language for me.
Thanks

This is typical of how some patterns are translated. BO 2 sts at the armholes on the next 2 rows, then 1 st (dec, doesn't have to be a BO) on the next 2 rows. And dec 1 stitch once, I think on both edges of a RS row. Is this the back or a front?
