i am sad today

and very angry
my daughter had a beautiful siamese cat
and she is in the habit of letting him out
yesterday he was mauled to death by a dog
and you know who fault this is
its hers
ibegged not to let him out he was very adventurous animal
and very aggressive
this is killing me and i cant talk to her
i probably will say something that i will regret it
it really hurts me that he ended his days so miserably
and i am crying now

i don't know how old your daughter is, perhaps at a later date a conversation can occur...however, i'm sure that she is feeling just as badly as you over this....

I am so sorry to hear about this! You were obviously right to be concerned and it does seem like maybe she shouldn't be allowed to have pets. I know that she is your daughter, but have you thought about reporting her to the Animal Control in her area? I know people have indoor/outdoor cats, but letting a cat outside unsupervised is actually illegal in a lot of places because of exactly what happened in this situation. I don't know what kind of action can be taken after the animal has already been killed (sadly :() but maybe a fine would teach her a lesson?
