The mittens are wonderful!

I am hoping they do like the colorful, ha ha! Like I said earlier, at first I felt cheap just using scraps, but when I showed the mittens to a few children, they seemed to really like them so I guess they will be good for the program! My daughter talked to one of the women that helps with the children and they are very excited about the upcoming donation - she mentioned that these days they don't get as many donations as in years past.

Sorry i havent done before there just hasnt been enough hours in the day
Baby mittens are a great way to start - can't wait to see the pics you post! I made a pair of mittens for my 3 1/2 month old granddaughter and sent them in the mail last week (it's cold here already, haha). My daughter called me today to ask if I could make another pair and this time leave a hole so that the baby could have her thumb stick out - I guess she got quite mad when she couldn't feel her thumb.

I just made my baby brother's gifts for the holidays (he's still my baby bro even tho he's 36!). I made him a pair of knucks and a skull cap in black.

this reminds me of something i wrote into Jen Singer (mommasaid.net) about mittens in may... my son's kidnergarten class was doing a spring concert on the seasons and he needed mittens, not gloves. I ended up staying up all night crocheting them (started from a pattern i found on lionbrand, decided I didn't like the way it was going so i "modified" it and made him some red, white, and green striped ones that he still wears).... only to have the teachers decide to NOT use mittens after all!!!

But yeah, count me in. I was thinking of doing some mittens anyway to clean out some stash

OMG! I would have told the teachers that you wanted detailed written reports about your child, and then when they finished them, just hand them back and say you don't need them.

Finally took pictures of the mittens I've knitted for Head Start.

Certainly nothing fancy, but I hope they will keep some child's hands warm this winter!!!
