I finished my mittens. I'm not good enough to get the stripes lined up though. I tried, but I didn't realize that the purple repeated more than once in the pattern. Oh well! They're unique and you can definitely tell that they aren't machine-made! For the first time in my life I'm anxious for winter so I can wear them! I'm ready to go buy the kids their winter coats so I can make matching mittens for them too! (I bought some glow in the dark yarn to do a stripe in them too...cheesy, I know!!!)

I love everyone's mittens!!

Thank you for the Spiderman Mitten pattern too

I'm sorry I wasn't able to keep up with this thread, but thanks to Ike we lost internet last Sunday afternoon and then power Sunday evening...we just got the power back yesterday morning and the internet yesterday around 5. We are thankful that we didn't get hit as hard as some in town and of course those further south than us. We are happy to have HOT water again though . I'm also happy to say I finished a project I started back in Jan.

So I am taking part in the KAL as well and didn't even know that was this months KAL. I bought some beautiful yarn from the thrift store and thought it would be nice to make up some wrist warmers for myself out of it as I need to make myself something for once. And I meed wrist warmers as I like to knit while waiting for the bus after work and it gets chilly while doing it. I have one done and the second started it is really a simple pattern that I am doing here is a link to it http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns/fj...ingerless.html no shaping so very simple. Will post pics once I am done.

Its nearing the end of the month and I have made one pair of mittens with two more sets on the needles. I would love to put pics online but my silly camera won't work. Just wondering where everyone else is on their mitten count?

Hi Nicole,

I made 9 pairs of mittens before switching to hats. I sent the mittens and the 20 hats that I made to Play N Learn - they received them yesterday according to UPS. I just hope that they fit!!!

I made four individual mini mitten ornaments using various yarns and fell in love with making mittens. I had to make a trip to the LYS last Friday so I could find the right size DPN to make some for the nieces & nephew for Christmas. I'll cut back on the other things for them so I can get these done. I told my mother I was starting to make some & if they didn't fit anyone to put them in the CMP or Coats for Kids boxes. I will also make more ornaments -- it's such a quick & easy project.

Everyone has done a WONDERFUL job!

Unfortunately, I didn't make a single mitten.
BAD Sandy! BAD Sandy!

This month was super busy for me though, with finishing up a lot of the Oddball charity projects, and planning an embroidery class for a group of home-schoolers....as well as dealing with a teenager in our house for the first time in several years.

I'll try to do better with next month's knit-along.
