I have a pattern for a bag which says knit the two handles at the same time. Can anyone help?

You will probably cast on for both, using 2 separate ends of yarn and knit one, then knit the other, then turn and knit both back. This will make sure they're both the same length. You may not have to knit both at the same time, depends on the pattern and what you do to them later. Which one is it?
