Anyone know how to knit these stars?

I was searching Ebay for yarn and checked on knitted items. Found this cute hat with adorable stars attached. Does anyone recognize the pattern or know hot to knit the stars?

The hat looks like a basic hat pattern, beginning with ribbing then switching to stockinette for the rest. You can google, or, go to knitting pattern central and find any number basic hat patterns. I'm sure you can find a pattern for hand knit stars as well. Here's one, though the stars are quite different than those on the hat:
