My package arrived from knitpurlgurl yesterday!!!! I had hoped to get the pictures uploaded during nap today....but no sit down time for me. So pictures and descriptions will follow tomorrow! I am so excited. She did such a great job! My sister was over and was fairly drooling over my yarn today!

Thanks so much knitpurlgurl!!!!!

my package from knitpurlgurl
O.K. Ladies here for your porn pleasure......

First off, the notions! I loved everything in my package. It was beautiful and so tasteful!!!!

She sent a wonderful little zipper pouch that will fit in my notebook to hold notions! I never would have noticed those, but I love it! Inside the pouch were...two yankee tarts (pumpkin spice smell ---yummmmm), little bitty picture frames, a heart embellishment from Be Sweet yarns, and the sweetest lamb tape measure!!! I am having to fight kids and my sister over this one!!!! THere was also some loose leaf "tropical green tea" from My Cup of Tea (Moni Dew here on KH) It is simply delicious. I am going to have to check out what all she has!

Then we have the yarn!

First for a wonderful pattern for Tweedy Cabled Cap found here. With the Khatmandu yarn in a beautiful tweedy green! This will be my first cable project and I am SOOOO excited!!!!

Then some Knitpicks Cotlin in a wonderful Moroccan red color. To make the Grrrlfriend Market Bag here

And then as a special suprise she also included a breast cancer awareness scarf pattern and yarn (complete with awareness ribbon)

I hope I got everything in there. There was so much and it is all so great!! Thank you so much Karrie. No dissapointment here AT ALL!!!!

CognizantAmiga - I'm SO glad you liked everything!!! I had so much fun putting it all together. I had originally ordered you stitch markers that were thin ovals of pearl, but most of them cracked in shipping and that really threw me off! I had to drive on over to my LYS and scavenge for notions!

Status of last couple packages
It would seem that Songbirdy and Jess_Hawk did not get their packages yet? Is this correct or have they just not posted about them yet? It has been a little over a week since packages should have been sent out. With that said at this point I would like to ask that their secret pals please pm me asap so that Jenn and I are aware of the status of the packages, problems you are experiencing, etc. Thank You so much

We could learn a lot from crayons:some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names,
and all are different colors....
but they all exist very nicely in the same box.

My pal emailed me that mine was sent out last weekend but it hadn't arrived yet Friday. Our post office pretty much follows school hours (its campus mail) though so I haven't been able to check this weekend.

My adventure at the post office:
Goal: retrieve mail and lunch
So, I left my dorm and sloshed through the slush over to the university center, where the post office and food court are. My mailbox contained a lollipop snowman from my cousin, and the long-anticipated, "Please stop by to pick up a package (2)" slip. . I took the slip to get my packages - one from lucky_alf2 and one that has the replacement cord for my mom's sewing machine. On the way to order my food, my knitting kit package opened itself. No seriously, it did. There was a tiny hole in it when I got it, and by the time my food was ordered, the entire end of the package was open. Of course, this was obviously a sign from God that there was no reason for me to wait to explore the package.
It contained the following items:
IK Holiday Gifts 2008
1 candle from Gold Canyon Candle Co. - I'm getting over a cold so I'm still working on what it smells like lol
a "Yarn Traveller" from Creative Couture - which I've been wanting for ages but could never justify for myself - comes complete with a carabiner attachement - Carabiners replace Duct Tape in my universe as the force by which all is held together.
2 packets of movie theatre butter popcorn
2 flavor packets for the aforementioned popcorn
4 of those chewy peppermint candy thingies (I love peppermint *dies*)
Designer collection tissues with my initial "E" on them (OK I admit to taking a minute figuring out what these were...)
A purple folder of the patterns I picked out and a paperclip to keep my place. The first one, Spirogyra, is the one which my kit was created for. Included are a "pocket-sized" version of the Spirogyra pattern, a note that online comments indicate 30 pattern rows to be sufficient length, a card from Adrianne, and a set of green and blue stitch markers made by her so I can keep my place on the pattern.

Now, you all may have noticed that this package had no yarn in it. Don't worry! My yarn is coming directly from the store, because Adrianne has a cat, Tegan, and I am allergic to cats, so she was concerned about cat hair in my yarn.
"Emily?"... "Emily!"... oh crap I was here to get food, wasn't I?
Photos as soon as my roommates are out of the living room so I can take it over!
