All of these stockings are SO cute! So, do I understand correctly that it can be any pattern (knit or crochet), any color, and any type/weight of yarn, as long as it is approximately 4-inches?

Also, are the stockings supposed to have a hanging loop, or leave it off, or is either way okay?

That's why I had to come up with an in the round stocking ...I knew they would never get seamed!!

Jan- I just cast to DPN and did what the pattern said except I knit the purl rounds.And for the Border I just k1 row,p1 row.Then all I had to do was close the bottom of the sock.

Mcknitty -Yes that's right and you can put a loop if you want to.Thank you

Thanks, Julie. That's what I figured, but thought I'd check.

I actually just knit one using double knitting, but the increases look wonky. It doesn't look too bad turned inside out though! Not sure I'll use it, but it was worth a try and I learned a new technique.

Haven't tried double knitting yet,So turn the sock inside out and we'll use it
