Choose your addictions
Last night my kids were playing a new video game. It was getting difficult to get them to stop playing.
I said, "That must be an addicting game".
I was knitting at the time. My husband said "Knitting is addicting".
I said, "Yes, it is." Pause. "Do you want to learn to knit?" Not at all expecting anyone to go for this.
My son (age 13) says "I don't want to be addicted to knitting."

I think it's good that he knows up front the risks of knitting.

Just as long as you can control the addiction there is no harm in enjoying yourself.

Judge: Thank you, Madame.

That's a wise boy--although there are many much worse things to be addicted to!

i choose Knitting!!!
Yep I do. In fact my 7 year old DD has decide to try knitting again. She took lessons with me when I first started, but wasn't really interested. But today after watching Knitty Gritty on the DVR with me she decided to try again. She wants to make some fingerless gloves for her BBF. I hope she continues.
