In the meantime i finished EZ's BSJ for a co-worker's baby on the way. It was from stash acrylics in purples and pinks. I'll post pictures later, when i'll sew it up and add the ruffles for collar and cuffs. I also started a lace scarf for my mom from stash lace yarn and am still knitting the Apres Surf Hoodie, which is progressing slowly due to 3.25mm needles and 4-ply yarn

I'm decreasing for armholes in the back and finished one neck side of the front ( I knit it in the round and devided at the neck and armholes). Sleeves yet to be started.

True Confession time....
So, last weekend DH and I ran away up north to see Jim Gaffigan in concert and a quick visit to my college. We had an awesome time and DH was a saint...he let me go to the LYS which happens to be right by campus. Well, needless to say, I made a wee bit of a purchase.
They had this great sock yarn from Sweden, so DH picked some out (in his alma matter colors) for a pair of boot socks. Its Jarbo Garn Raggi in Red/Black/White twist.

So, not to leave without anything for myself I got some Plymouth Happy Feet- I love this fall colorway...

The shop was really nice with a TON of yarn I have never even seen before. I was so happy to touch....until I got to the Cashmere...PUT THE YARN DOWN!
We finished, got out to the car and DH said, wow, I thought you were going to go crazy and this was all you bought? YOU MEAN I COULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE???? Well, that is where the Stash bust came in- just say no to more.
I have a pattern for DH boot socks, and I can't decide on one for mine. Guess I will have to hit Ravelry. But not tonight. I'm tired.

I was in Austin this weekend and was able to make it (with only 10minutes to closing) to Hill Country Weavers. OMG, what an amazing store. I've never seen anything like it. (My LYS experience is limited, but I'm sure they are a very special shop.) I took a couple of girlfriends with me, they are fiber lovers too. We oohed and awed over all the yarn and I finally made my selections. Here they are
Berroco Seduce - luscious. I got a free pattern when I bought this. It's the Scallop Scarf. I will start this tonight.

Noro Kureyon - a last minute grab. I see that people are crazy for Noro so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a nice neutral color.

Finally, the awesome lace weight. It will knit such a beautiful textural scarf. I will use these next 2 together with the paper yarn as accents. All stockinette. The red is Habu - cotton linen spiral and the dark taupe is Habu - Paper Ring.

I could have bought so much more, but I only had 10 minutes. All the ladies working werer great. I will be going back very soon.

Gift yarn doesn't count, right? I was gifted with a skein of KP Shimmer in Galaxy colorway - purples and blues, really pretty and a hank of original Irish Tweed, chunky weight from the same mill that makes DB Chunky Tweed.

The more I watch this stash train, the more I realize I'm just in it so that I can peek at all your wonderful yarns and finished projects. I had no idea that people could stash so much yarn!

I've been resisting the yarn bug myself, but only because I know that I don't knit enough to justify buying any more yarn than what I can use right now.

(This forum doesn't help -- everyone is always so eager and excited about the yarn they use that I always want to try some too!

)

I hope you don't mind that I'm still lurking in the thread, even though I don't have the stash (or the time to stash-bust) that you all have! Actually, watching you all work through your stashes has been an incentive to me to not buy more yarn than I can chew off. Or something like that.

Keep up the good work! I love seeing all the projects and reward yarns!

I finished two stash cardigans for my little granddaughter's this week.
(not started and finished in one week, just finished!)

Anyways, I treated myself to some REWARD YARN. Sigh.

It's Knitpicks' fault! They sent out the email about their new line of CITY TWEED is ready for sale! Oy.

Oh well, I did pretty dern good! I had 3 batches/colors in my cart...and deleted two before checking out.

Knitpicks doesn't charge shipping on orders over $50 but they charge me 9.5% State Sales Tax. Yes! NINE POINT FIVE PERCENT! (cuz I reside in the same state as Knitpicks)

I bought a 'safe' neutral color called 'Snowshoe'.
Gonna follow my second rule: cannot "stash" REWARD YARN.
Must knit it immediately.

I'm gonna make the TWIST cabled cardigan, hooded version.
It is very similar to the Central Park Hoodie, but the hood is plain, and the cables are more feminine, more intricate, prettier.
