Saturday evening I organized all my yarn, untangled everything, and wound it all back up. I took a couple of pictures. This is my whole stash. You see what I mean that it isn't very much, but I still want to use it up. I have in mind a couple of drawstring purses, hats, and a fair isle purse pattern with the white and blues.

Anyhoo, finished a couple of stash projects over the weekend- a brown and pink scarf (was going to be all brown, but I didn't have enough), and a crocheted burgundy hat. I didn't think I'd have enough to finish the hat, but I had about three inches of yarn left when I was done, barely enough to be able to weave in the ends. Phew!

I'll post a picture of the scarf when it's completely done; I'm trying to play around with some finishing details.

Welcome Dolphie2!

I know I'm a bit late with this but I just had to mention that your sweaters are beautiful. I am looking very forward to the day that I am talented enough to do that.

Nicole -- your stash is so cute! I wish I could fit mine in a basket or two. I'm still trying to use up yarn I bought back in the early days of my marriage when I thought I was going to crochet an afghan (or two or three) for my couch.

(Only finished one and recently donated it to Goodwill. Which upset my mom because she wanted to take it apart and steal the yarn. I figured that since I put that much work into it, either someone else could use it or they could frog it and I wouldn't have to know about it. )

Stash busting update!

I'm using old yarn instead of new which means I probably shouldn't be buying the new in the first place.

Still working on the log cabin, using 13 year old yarn, and I've started a new log:

For my on-the-go project, I've started the Diagonal Blanket from the Lion Brand site for my 12 year old Homespun yarn:

It is supposed to use three skeins and I'm using a fresh skein right now, but eventually I plan to frog this blanket for yarn:

It's the never-ending blanket and I don't want to work on it anymore. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger and I keep buying more yarn to finish it (and it was supposed to be a stash buster when I started it almost 10 years ago). I'm planning to frog it, three skeins at a time, into however many of those baby blankets it can make. (I don't know how many skeins are in it, but I'm pretty sure I started with about five or six and I've bought at least four or five more and it still isn't finished. I have half a mind to just bind it off and be done with it, but I think I'd really rather frog it.)

(Breaking up my post so it isn't so long! Stash busting update part 2.)

Finally, with the skien that randomly appeared in my stash (I still don't know where it came from but my kitchen washcloth phase was about 12 or 14 years ago so it is probably at least that old) and some new netting bought online, I made some KH scrubbies:

The two on the top have been washed, the two on the bottom have not. There are four little ones, but the other one was dripping in the sink and I left it there when I took pictures.

When I made the first one, I thought the cast on row looked a little short, so I added stitches. It is 24 stitches by 18 rows and a little big for washing bottles and breast pump parts. It does work well for cleaning the table and washing other dishes.

The little ones are 18 stitches by 12 rows and they seem to work just as well for anything. I do like that size a little better -- I can finish them quicker!

At the moment, DH doesn't use them at all and I'm using the little ones exclusively on bottles and breast pump apparatus. When I'm finished nursing, I'll start using them for everything, but right now I like that I can leave them by the sink and not wonder what the last thing was that I cleaned using them.
