Christmas Tree Skirt
I unpacked some of my Christmas stuff last night and realized that the skirt I have been using for many years is probably not going to make it past this holiday. It is one my daughter made out of construction paper when she was 8 and while I knew this day was coming I still held out hope for just a few more Christmases.

Being forced to do so, I have decided to either knit or crochet a new tree skirt and went out on the web looking for a good pattern and couldn't find any that struck my fancy. There really aren't as many as I thought there would be. So, if anybody has any great ideas I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Andi

I'll look for some patterns on ravelry in a few minutes, but until then... have you thought of laminating the construction paper skirt with clear contact paper?

It was such a large project that no I hadn't thought of that. I guess I didn't even know they made clear contact paper. I've seen the laminating sheets but they are for 8.5x11 sized papers and much too small. Thanks so much!!

I noticed your tag line at the bottom of your post and have one you might like. Enjoy

Some mornings it just doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps.

Hee hee, I love the Emo Phillips line.

Contact paper comes in rolls. I usually buy it at the grocery store or Target in the same area as the shelf paper. It might not actually keep your tree skirt working as a tree skirt, but might help you preserve it to keep it. Good luck!

I do like that first one. I like the last one too but have never worked with circular needles before. It always gives me a reason to learn though. Thanks

Christmas Tree Skirt
If you're into crocheting at all, check out the site below for a round ripple Christmas tree skirt. I have made several and they turn out beautifully.
