I'm so sorry for the issues you're having with your health. Steroids can be just as dangerous as other medications.
I don't know if you have a health food store near you, but if so, I would recommend that you make a visit to it. I am a firm believer in homeopathic treatments. They can take longer, but they are so much better in the long run.
Hugs to you, my friend.

I wear magnetic bracelets on both wrists all the time, and a pliable magnetized wrist wrap to bed. I can knit with the bracelets very easily. I wear the wrist wrap to bed on whichever hand is bothering me (usually the right hand) during times when repetitive stress syndrome is bothering me. It really helps. Non-invasive, no pills, no side effects.
NIKKEN products> virtual catalog>pages 22 & 23 for bracelets
and pages 28 & 29 for elastomag hand wraps.

Private message me if you have any questions and/or if you are interested in giving magnetics a go. My DH and I have been using NIKKEN sleep system as well as the magnetic insoles, hand wraps, knee wraps, etc. for over 15 years. They are incredible.

Sounds to me like it's time to get a second opinion. I also have sinus issues, but I deal with it as it comes.... Get a second opinion and see what's what after that.

I agree with Auburnchick about homeopathic remedies. I used to have chronic sinus infections until I started taking Fenu-Tyme. I used to get an infection every couple of months but I haven't had 1 since I started taking it several years ago.

Another thing you might try is a neti pot or some kind of system to wash out your sinuses with saline. It sounds really gross, and it took me awhile to build up the strength to do it, but when I had a bad sinus infection that just would not go away, it really helped.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear you are having these problems, that's got to be painful physically and mentally. My sister got repetitive problems in her forearms from working at a factory, and nothings seemed to be able to be done. She used to love crochet and plastic canvas. She just absolutely couldn't do it anymore - but now she has totally gotten into scrap booking and making these small trading cards and all sorts of greeting cards - it has given her an outlet for her creativity where she can use stamps and ribbons and all sorts of other decorative things on her cards but it doesn't give her the forearm pain. It is some sort of tendonitis type thing but in the forearm instead of the elbow. I think it is called 'radial tunnel' (as opposed to carpal tunnel). Anyway, very painful she says. Sometimes constantly even if she is not using her arms. :(

I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. Last month I had an ear infection and went to the doctor. I'm allergic to penicillin, so she gave me Levaquin. I read the pharmacist's insert to get an idea of what kind of side effects it could have (I always do that - I tend to be really sensitive to medications. For example, I've got plantar fasciitis in both feet and in the early stages the podiatrist put me on an anti-inflammatory. After the first day, I had horrible heartburn. He took me off that and prescribed Celebrex, which was supposed to be less likely to cause that side effect....um, wrong. I use aspirin for pain - sometimes Tylenol, but that doesn't seem to do as well as plain old aspirin) and thought there wasn't anything that looked too bad in comparison to the ear infection. After 3 days I took myself off of it (4 days before I was supposed to see her again). The first thing I noticed was my left elbow being very tender. I thought it was because after hubby put the eardrops in my right ear, I'd just fallen asleep on that arm and slept wrong so I didnt give it a lot of thought. 2 days after that, my forearms were so sore I couldn't lift anything. That's when I got the sheet out again, and sure enough, one of the "rare" side effects is tendinitis or a possible rupture of a tendon. I stopped the medication right then. When I went back to see her, I told her what had happened, and she said I was only the second person in 8 years that had complained of that.
My forearms are fine now, but the elbow still bothers me, and I've noticed my knees are giving me more problems than they used to if I sit for any prolonged periods (like to knit). I'm still thinking time will work that out, too.
Hang in there, it will get better. It just takes time to get the stuff worked out of your system. The best advice I can give is to just rest the muscles involved as much as possible, and if it really doesn't start to get better, get in touch with the doc and see if there's someone else you can see about the tendinitis. You definitely don't want to be messing around with permanently injuring them!!
Take care!!!!!!!!!

Feeling some better
Hi all, Just an update. I went to the health food store last week. I got some 'Glucosamine & Chondroitin' It worked for Tennis elbow a few years back. I am also trying some 'Floradix Magnesium' supplement for the nerves around my neck and head. Also I have a friend in from Florida, she does 'acupressure'. She has worked on me about 4 times this week. Just today I could feel the heat and pain moving out of my shoulders some. It is a lot better. I'm still sore but not nearly as bad as I was. I won't be knitting anytime soon. I don't want to get another flare-up. I will wait until it is completely gone before I knit. I do feel I'm on the mend though.
I will never take 'Levaquin' again. I will also ask about side effects before ever taking a drug again.
WOW! What an experience....
I decided to try homeopathic treatment. I have been in so much pain & the Dr's said they did not know anything else to do for it. And FYI the acupressure feels great, even if you don't have a serious health problem to solve.
Happy Knitting & Happy New Year.

Just a note....contact your doctor and have them put an entry in your file that you can't take Levaquin, in case there would ever be a time you'd need someone to know and weren't able to tell them. I know, I know, people are going to say files never get read, but I figure it can't hurt to have it recorded and on file. I know my doc pulls out my file everytime I go to see her, so she's obviously meticulous enough that she does go through the meds/reactions, etc. If you've already done that, sorry for my thinking it might have slipped your mind.
