OK, Ladies. I made it up to Atkinson Farm Yarns in Vincennes. The ladies there are so nice! I really like the place.
The shop is in an old farm house.
The owner is Cheryl Atkinson.
If I try to name their yarns I might make a mistake so let's just say that they have lots n lots!
and much more.
Lots of books & patterns. Lots more than this:
Open Knits are on Sat & Tue. They always have a good group.
So many yarn specialty shops are closing, but they're expanding this summer. Gonna add on to the building.
They're at 1061 N Atkinson Rd. just a little east of Windy Knoll Winery. (812) 726-1306
Tue - Fri 12-5
Sat 10-3
I'm pretty good at turning a deaf ear to the calls of yarns. My stash isn't impressive. Books are my weakness. They had two that I've been wanting & another one called out to me. My mother surprised me by paying for them! I bought a skein of Galway to make a helmetliner for the troops. I enjoy making them.
It's worth the trip there.
Cheryl recommended a restraurant called Pea-Fections on Main St. in Vincennes. They have a good write-up
