Silly easy gauge swatch question
Okay, I'm fixin' to do my first project where the gauge *actually matters* LOL ... It says to do it in the pattern stitch (moss stitch).

Is it best to knit a few rows of garter stitch before starting and a few stitches of garter stitch at the top to keep it from rolling or even just a few more rows/stitches in the pattern so I'm not measuring edge-to-edge?

I don't think moss stitch will roll, but it can't hurt to do garter all around the edge to be sure.

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.
