Love this pattern, but need guidance
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/...ldstripes.html

I L-O-V-E this blanket but need some guidance because so far the only thing I've made is one dishcloth. This blanket seems simple enough, I know how to do the stitch but here are my questions:
1. How to start a new row with a new color?
2. How do I use the circular needle to knit this? I've not seen an example of how to knit flat things on a needle like this.

Are there some good videos somewhere to show me the answers to these questions?

Any other advice you'd give a newbie on this pattern?

Thanks!

You use a circular to knit flat the same as you do straight needles; at the end of the row, swap the ends so the sts are on the needle in your left hand. To add a color on a new row, drop the old color and start knitting with the new one, leaving a tail to weave in later
