Using other headband patterns as a guide to proper length, I used a lovely stitch pattern from the book One Ball Knits - Accessories by Fatema, Khadija, and Hajera Habibur-Rahman and created a pretty headband with some yarn that was too itchy (but too pretty!) for much of anything else. I did two widths, 1 1/2" and 2 3/4".

That one close up really takes you right down into the stitches. The yarn and stitches are really nice that close up. I'm glad you included them. Your head bands looks so nice and thick. Nice stitch choice.

Those are cute. I need to make some. What a great way to use up odds and ends from your stash, too. (I hate throwing any yarn away, even if it's only a few yards!)
