Pattern Interpretation
Hello,
I need some claification on understanding this pattern. I am missing something and cannot figure it out. I get stuck when I get to the row where I should end up with "29' stitches. If there is any experienced knitter that would like to adopt me and be my mentor through this pattern...I will be your new best friend forever. (it's the bunny pattern from Fuzzy Mitten)
Cast on 12 sts. P 1 row.

Next row
: k1, [m1, k1] to end. P 1 row.
Next row

: k1, m1, k9, [m1, k1] 4 times, k8, m1, k1.
(29 sts)
Thank you,
Donna

Hi Donna,

I am by no means an expert but I just looked at your pattern and tried to figure this out. I think on row 3 you would be making one stitch between each knit stitch for a total of 23 stitches. Then when you get to row 5 you are adding the additional 6 stitches (the 6 m1 in the order indicated) for a total of 29 stitches. I hope that makes sense!

That row has 6 inc sts on it, so you start with 23 from the previous inc row. Since you CO 12 and should have 23 at the end of the first row, it looks like the inc is done between sts, not a kfb which uses a stitch.
