k tog first stitch on left needle with first stitch 6 rows below
ok, I'm stuck. Its a first - i can usually work things out but not this time.
(RS) K tog first stitch on left needle with first stitch 6 rows below. The idea being to make a ridge. I must be doing something wrong because its doing the ridge on the wrong side of the knitting. the ridge is all the purl (wrong side) stiches and thats just not how it is on the photo.
HELP!!!!. I have never had an instruction like this before so have nothing to compare it to and have no idea where to look for the answer.
Posy bootes taken from jaeger handknits book 2004.

Well, it sounds to me, like you have to pick up the stitch 6 rows below with the needle (I would first pick it up with RH needle, then slip it to LH needle), then knit those two together....

Apart from this, I can't realy help you...
The ways of Yarn are inscrutable.

This sounds like a hem, the purl ridge should be one row on the RS in the knits and will form the fold. Fold the caston edge up at the ridge and knit the two together.
