does anyone know if walmart would carry the tulle or I'm better off with a fabric store?

I see they carry this, but I suspect it's the soft tulle not the netting. I think you'll just have to check your store out because some stores have more craft and sewing items than others.

I'd love to join the KAL. I just placed my order yesterday for the netting and it shipped this morning. This is a great pattern b/c I have so much peaches n creme to use up!

They work great on dishes AND pans with special coatings!
They are not abrasive in any way. They won't ruin your teflon.
I use a PAMPERED CHEF stir-fry pan about 5 times a week, and it has a special non-stick coating (not teflon) and the scrubbies clean it fine and dandy, no damage! I also use a PAMPERED CHEF griddle (spans two burners), same non-stick surface. No damages there either.

I am so in! I just ordered some nylon but see I should have waited to read this because I ordered plain old cream colored.

Question: How do you cut the spools in half?

Ok, I ordered the spools but COULDN'T WAIT! So I went to Joann's and got 5 yards of white nylon mesh and cut it into strips. I made one scrubbie CO 15 (ran out of yarn on my Long Tail) knit for 22 rows (I thought that would be 11 ridges but it ended up being 12) and cast off. I feel like it's too big for me so next one I'll do 10 stitches and 18 rows and see how that works.

Even though it's too big for me, it works like a charm and made cleaning my fridge this morning VERY easy!

Hi Robyn~ That's exactly what I did, too! Just kept tinkering with the number cast on stitches and number of ridges.

I settled on: casting on 16st using a US11, knit 11 ridges, cast off.

Bigger than that could be a waste of time and materials, but smaller could work out good, depending on your needs.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It helps us all to talk it through together!

I haven't used anything but my scrubbies for hand washing dishes! My dishcloths are reserved for wiping the counters only.

Oh yeah, dishcloths are only for counter wiping! DH wrecked one of mine using it on his ceramics.

The scrubbies work great for dishes! I think I will make the next one a tad smaller, too.
