These are toe up socks (Donayale pattern
from Black Dog Knits. I think they'd look great with the pattern continued on the heel flap, but can't figure out how to do this. I've changed the pattern already to make mine toe up, with the basic heel turn ala Deb Barnhill Azure socks pattern (Knitty winter 2007). I thought it would be relatively easy to slip in the donyale pattern for the heel flap, instead of plain stockinette, but then I realized I didn't know how to translate the pattern for the WS, since the flap is knit back and forth. Anyone able to translate for me, or give me the formula? To summarize the pattern, it's an eyelet cable that uses a multiple of 5 stitches. There are 3 different rounds, the last being repeated for the 4th. Repeats are in parenthisis. It's a free pattern, so I'm not contravening a copyright here.

I would love it if someone could enlighten me.
