My math skills aren't the greatest, so I need help!!!! I'm working on a 12 point round ripple afghan, and I was wondering if there is a chart somewhere that tells you how many stitches you have between points for each round so I have something to check my stitch count against. I'm just not getting the mathematical formula of how this afghan increases, and I want to be sure I'm doing it right. THIS is the pattern I'm using. I'm probably going to go about 42 rounds. Thank you! __________________ I'm "the mean twin". I'm on flickr, too! I love to knit shawls...after all, a girl can't have too many shawls!

I don't know about the counts posted in your link (actual stitch counts) being actual sts counts for the rounds as they only count the DC sts before and after the "V" stitch. One would need to double the counts given then add the ch 2 to the count for the size of the repeat. That sum would then be multiplied by 12 repeats. Chrome Kitty also did only one small "V" row for every 2 large "V" row. Was there an Errata posted for the pattern? If not then Chrome Kitty followed a modified pattern. Here are actual stitch counts for the 12 point afghan you linked. Notes: (s) = small "V" stitch used in ch 2 space and (L) = large "V" st used in ch 2 spc. Rnd 1 (12 sts) Rnd 2 (24 sts) = 2 sts * 12 rep 1(0)1 Rnd 3 (48 sts) = 4 sts * 12 rep 0(s)0 Rnd 4 (72 sts) = 6 sts * 12 rep 0(L)0 Rnd 5 (96 sts) = 8 sts * 12 rep 1(L)1 Rnd 6 (120 sts) = 10 sts * 12 rep 2(L)2 Rnd 7 (120 sts) = 10 sts * 12 rep 3(s)3 Rnd 8 (144 sts) = 12 sts * 12 rep 3(L)3 Rnd 9 (168 sts) = 14 sts * 12 rep 4(L)4 Two row pattern follows: two rows small v, two rows large V. Rnd 10 (168 sts) = 14 sts * 12 rep 5(s)5 Rnd 11 (192 sts) = 16 sts * 12 rep 6(s)6 Rnd 12 (216 sts) = 18 sts * 12 rep 6(L)6 Rnd 13 (240 sts) = 20 sts * 12 rep 7(L)7 Rnd 14 (240 sts) = 20 sts * 12 rep 8(s)8 Rnd 15 (264 sts) = 22 sts * 12 rep 9(s)9 Rnd 16 (288 sts) = 24 sts * 12 rep 9(L)9 Rnd 17 (312 sts) = 26 sts * 12 rep 10(L)10 etc.. Hope that helps. __________________ --Jack Master of Crochet, apprentice of Knit as Off-Jumps-Jack OTN another Black & gold Diagonal Square Potholder OTH Baby blanket OTH Lace doily - A vintage pattern recreating from an heirloom.
