2 circs instead of dpns?

I'm thinking of making a hat for a baby (no pattern in mind yet, just musing!). In most of the patterns I have seen, one needs to switch to dpns for the decreases at the top. Is it possible to use 2 circs instead? I hate dpns with a passion!

yes that should be fine, just be aware that some patterns may refer to the decrease sections by needle (i.e. decrease at the start and end of each needle) so you might want to palce stitch markers where the breaks for DPNs would be

You can use two circs from the beginning if you want to instead of a 16" and you don't have to change, too.
