Lost in Translation...
I found a sock pattern on Rav that I really like, but it's translated from German and I don't know what these abbreviations stand for:

In stockinette, 30M x 41R = 10 x 10 cm

I can figure out what it means, but I am just wondering what the M stands for ???
If at first you don't it and try again!

Hi Marria,
I just went to the google translator, and "Stitch" translates to German as "Masche", so I'm guessing that's it...

Yeah, that is giving the gauge. 30 stitches and 41 rows is 4 inches.
