Need help with directions for working short rows on socks
I'm making socks for the first time using the Universal Toe-Up Sock Formula pattern over on Knitty: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTuniversalsock.html

I'm fiding it really confusing after the 'repeat rows 4 & 5 until..." part for a number of reasons.

Firstly it says I should be ready to start a RS row, which I'm not. I needed 8 sts unwrapped out of 21 sts and that ended up with me being on a WS row... Not looking good so far!

Secondly I have no idea what the row 6 section of the pattern means. What is the first wrap stitch - the first stitch I wrapped (i.e. at the end of the needle) or does it mean the first stitch I reach that is wrapped on that row? And also the slip 1 on row 7 I don't really get.

I guess I'm finding it hard to visualise at the moment and it probably doesn't help that I learn a lot better from videos than written instructions.

I'd really appreciate any help with the instructions for this pattern.
Thankyou!

'Work to the first wrapped stitch' means the first wrapped stitch you come too rather than the first one you did.

the SL1 on row 7, just meens to slip the first stitch of the row (from left needle to right needle) without working it.

This might be silly, but for arriving at the right number of unwrapped sts, did you remember to round E to the nearest odd or even number to match D? That might make a difference if you didn't do it. Other than that, I can't really help you.

For row 6, it would be the first wrapped st you reach on that row.
