So I started a hat (child) pattern that called for CO 80 st. worked a rib for 1 inch and then it calls for a St stitch for 5 inches and then kitchner across (so its sqare) I have done the first part but I wanted to change it up and do a regular top for a hat, How do I go about the decrease, do I just decrease by 2 ? 10? What should I do !!

I would decrease one stitch every 10th, then one every 9th, one every 8th, and so on.
