It could be you do row 7 like this - k6, p3 *k 3, p3* repeating between the *s and end with knit 6. That would work. So your stitch repeat is 6, and you would add sts in multiples of 6 to make it wider - 6, 12, 18, etc. __________________ sue- knitting heretic

So inc by 6 sts, or 12, or 18 or 24. __________________ sue- knitting heretic

The reason you add in multiples of 6, but the CO number would be an odd one is that you have 6 sts on each edge for a border, but in between you do p3, then the repeating stitches are k3, p3. It's the number of repeating sts you want to stick with. __________________ sue- knitting heretic

This is 3 from the end of the repeat and the 6 edge sts. And adding 48 works out fine. __________________ sue- knitting heretic
