Need recommendation for good wool yarn
Last time I made a dog sweater I used Paton's Merino yarn. I guess the yarn was ok, but would like to upgrade on this next dog sweater. Anyone have a recommendation for a good wool or wool blend yarn? I've used Cascade before for felted tote bags, but I'm just not sure it woud be good for this. He's a miniature Schnauzer so it's not going to take a lot, and uh, well, he's my Granddog so you know how it is~

TIA you guys,
Jan

I personally like Merino wool but i spin my own. I haven't ever actually bought wool that's in a skein already. A lot of the sweaters I take apart say 'lambs wool' but I guess that's not too discriptive. If you really want to spoil the dog get him some Cashmere or Alpaca. If you want to super spoil your dog, get some Qivuit.

Wasn't sure what Qivuit was so I googled it. By the description, it sounds very luxurious. Had no idea muskox were used. Sounds like it might be expensive though.
Thanks for your help!

Alpaca's nice, but very warm, so that might be a consideration.

Well, thanks you guys. I'll have to check that out. I wasn't real happy wih the Paton's Merino wool. The sweater looked a little bedraggled after I got done with it before the dog even got to wear it! Of course, I'm blaming it on the yarn (LOL).

Everyone has such fancy suggestions for this dog sweater! Should I ever have the cash for Qivuit, I will make something for me (I'm selfish, I know.) For a dog sweater I would use a workhorse wool like Lamb's Pride.

Thanks Anarfea. There's a store close by that carries it! Thanks for the recommendation.
