Here is the latest little sweater I've made with the Red Heart yarn. I got a very different look this time.

All the same yarn as the sailboat and ducky sweaters but orange thrown in (not too much, it screams) instead of gold.
I was inspired by a little hat I saw that had a lot of textured stuff going on including some chain stitch crochet/embroidery (which I lifted). The hat was called Frenchie and is in the book Itty Bitty Nursery. I thought, "I could make a sweater and just change the colors and textures as the mood hits me." It uses several textured stitches from the Harmony Guides.

I just started at the bottom with the bright garter stitch border working fronts and back as one piece. I worked to the armholes and then did the back and fronts. Did a 3-needle bind off for the shoulder seam. Then I picked up stitches around the armholes and made the sleeves in the round from the top down. It seemed to be calling, "I want a collar", so I gave it one.

I would have loved some orange buttons, but couldn't find any that were right so settled on white.
