question about *ssk, yo, repeat from* to last stitch, k1
I'm knitting Elisa's nest tote bag. When you begin the 4th row, *ssk, yo, repeat from* to last stitch, k1...do you begin with a yo?

Thank you.

No, you begin with the ssk, so the repeat would be - ssk, yo, ssk, yo, ssk, yo, etc to the last stitch and k1 in it. Note that you do not do a k1 between the yo and ssk.

Sue, I began with 41 stitches and now I only have 40 now. I began my row with ssk, yo, repeat....when I purl it back, will I gain 1 stitch that I lost? Thank you for your response. I'm in New Bern, NC, home the Carolina Tar Heels!!

No you won't get it back; you either did an extra ssk or forgot a YO. The repeat (ssk, yo) uses a multiple of 2 sts (40) plus the k1 on the end for 41 sts. Before ripping out, go back to the beginning of the row and count the sts by naming them - ssk, yo, ssk, yo - to find where you got off track.
