While searching my local Goodwill today I came across 2 cones of yarn... inside the cone it gives the name National Spinning, So I looked up the company online and lo and behold, it's the same company that makes Caron yarns. These however are from their manufacturers line... I wonder what I can do with them as they are thinner than sock yarn, and fuzzy and thicker than crochet thread. The colors are "Peacock", and "gray"
In the picture the purple is som Deborah Norville sock yarn that I used for comparison and gage so you could see what I mean.
It looks like maybe lace weight yarn. You could make a shawl or light weight socks. I use lace weight for socks for warmer weather. You could also make scarves

I have just adapted sock weight patterns to lace weight. I generally increase the stitches cast on by about 25%. If the pattern is 60 stitches I cast on 75. You do have to know the number of stitches in the pattern repeat and fudge a few stitches one way or the other. So far I've knit lace weight socks on 0 dpns. I just bought a set of 00 and would probably increase the cast on to 80-85 stitches depending on the pattern.
