I just ordered a Ball Winder!

I'm knitting a sweater for myself and I don't like how the yarn comes out when I wind it myself. So this morning I ordered a ball winder from Joann Fabrics and my dh is going to make me a swift like this one....take a peek at this quick video...

I wish I had a swift, last time I used my ball winder the hank fell off the back of the chair and landed in a tangled mess on the floor, which my sis decided to help me with and it ended up worse! Over here most yarn comes in balls so I don't use the ball winder often enough to justify a new gadget.

My husband built me a swift a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I don't know how I worked without one. I plan on ordering a ball winder from KP soon, as soon as I can justify spending more money on my addiction to all things knitting.

Do you have a big lampshade? I just unscrew the finial on the top, throw the hank around it and wind away. Cheap and easy, just how I like it.

Just don't tell my husband. He likes to feel needed and I have him hold the yarn when he's home.

I wish i had one now. I always make just a ball of yarn and it's so anoying when it comes apart. I'll definatly keep that in mind for future reference!
