New Question - Pattern row after decreasing

I'm having a little trouble adjusting the pattern lines after binding off at the start of a row. If someone could work with me through one, I think I could manage the rest.

I have to bind off 3 sts at the start of 2 rows. The first row is all knit after binding off, so that's no problem. The next row will have 3 less at both the beginning and end and it goes like this:

Row 10: p1, keeping yarn at front sl 1 purlwise, yb *k6, yf, sl 2 purlwise, yb; rep from * to last 8 sts, k6, yf, sl 1 purlwise, p1

I think it would be:

k5, yf, sl 2 purlwise, yb *k6, yf, sl 2 purlwise, yb; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5

Does that look right? Oh, the pattern is for The Gertrude Sweater.

That sounds like what you'd do. Go ahead with it and if it doesn't turn out right, you can always rip it out and do over.

I've calculated my rows after all my decreases (total 9 at each end) and there's just one I'm not sure about.

The original row reads as follows:

7th row: k1, *C2F, k4, C2B; rep from * to last st, k1

Here are the 2 ways it could go after removing the decreases (I haven't written it in, but there is an edge st each side):

Option A: *C2F, k4, C2B repeat from * to end

Option B: K6, C2B, *C2F, k4, C2B, rep from * to last 8 sts, C2F, k6

Not sure whether it would be a problem to have the cable sts right at the beginning and end of the row, even with the edge sts there.

What do you think?

I'm also wondering, in addition to my new question above, whether I stop the edge sts after decreasing for the arm shaping? The pattern doesn't say, but without those edge sts, my rows would return to the original rows.

Probably just keep the stiches in stockinette; cabling them will pull in and you don't need that right at the armhole edge. If the edge sts are already included in the original pattern (not the st pattern, the whole thing) then keep them.
