its normal, the height and width of your knitted stitch is rarely equal, that is why they make 'special' knitters graph paper... i agree with artlady - your sample looks great! just take a step back from it for awhile so that you can see how pretty it is for all its stitches. you can add extra depth to your rows between motif blocks or you could just let it play out and not stress yourself. just add another set of blocks to the length of the blanket (i thought that mine would be a 3x3 square and it in the light of reality became a 3x4 rectangle and i like it all the better for it).

I finally got around to washing the sample and I will not be using the Hobby Lobby "I Love This Yarn" for this blanket. It turned out looking pretty horrible. Which really is a shame because the color and price were definitely right. Here are a few pics to show the problem.

The yarn just fuzzed up so bad, it looks awful. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the rest of this yarn I have left!

They may take it back, but I don't live in the city. They are 1.5-2 hours away. It would cost me more in gas than the yarn is worth.

I'll find something to do with it. Just not anything this large or pretty! Maybe some hats for the kids or something. The way they can tear their stuff up maybe it won't bother me so bad!

I also really want to point out that those pictures make it look better than it really is! I had a hard time getting pics of it. It looks worse in person!

On the bright side, it got really soft after washed!

it's almost June! I pulled out my yarn yesterday to try a sample with and then I'll decide what to order. I prolly won't be able to start right at June but will be checking in...the next couple of weeks are going to be very busy here as it looks like we will be moving

Who all has their yarns chosen? Anyone started yet?

I haven't gotten anywhere on it...I'm trying to finish up some commitments I had knitting wise before we move...and most of my yarn is now packed away somewhere in the dinning room, beside what is otn. I did look through my books again (while packing them) and still can't decide what I want for the other 2 charts, so much to pick from.

Oy! That teddy bear blanket is awesome! Isn't it a classy combo of colors! Very antique looking! Wow. I wish she had more photos of it!
